Historic Building Recording

What is it?

Historic building recording is a detailed record of a structure created from background research and on site recording.

There are four levels of recording ranging from a photographic record of the structure as it is today to an in depth record investigating the fabric of the structure and phasing the different elements.

Historic building recording is usually undertaken when a structure is considered of archaeological or historic importance and is to be altered or demolished.

A report will be created documenting the findings from the structure.
